Four exceptional beers

Today, the Dubuisson brewery produces four high-quality beers: Bush Amber (12%), Bush Blond (10.5 %), Bush 7% and Bush de Noël, the Christmas beer. These 4 Bush beers are high fermentation beers which means that high temperatures are involved in the process. No additives are used in the production process, making them perfectly natural beverages. All four of them are filtered. In other words, besides Bush de Noël sold in magnum size bottles (1.5 liters), there is no further fermentation in the bottle.

For export and reasons of brand name, the Bush beers are sometimes called Scaldis. They can be found in ¼ liter bottles (or 33cl bottles for export). Bush 7% and Bush de Noël exist in 20 or 30 liter kegs.

Bush beers are not pasteurized. For optimal preservation, the beers must be stored under proper conditions: the least possible light and cool temperatures (no excessive heat). Bush beers may be stored for at least one year. All three of them are produced using malt, pure water, hops and sugar. The brewery uses no other cereal to produce its beers.

BUSH AMBER - SCALDIS, THE MOST BELGIAN OF SPECIAL BEERS.

- It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues.

- Its former name was "Bush 12%", but today it is known as Bush Amber.

- Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Bush Amber, the strongest Belgian beer, has an alcohol content of 12%.

- Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

BUSH BLONDE, A BLONDE WORTH DISCOVERING

- Created in June 1998, Bush Blond is obviously a discovery in the strong blond ales market in which it will undoubtedly play a major role.

- It has a light and glistering colour. It rates at 10.5 % alcohol content.

- Hugues Dubuisson who is the current brewer wanted it to be worth of the famous Bush Amber and gave it the same nice aroma and flavour, which are henceforth the Brewery Dubuisson's signature.

BUSH 7%, THE UNEXPECTED

- This light ale was created by Hugues Dubuisson in 1994. The first brew was produced to celebrate the brewery's 225th anniversary.

- This light beer is amber-coloured because of the small amounts of caramel malt used for its production.

- It rates at 7.5% alcohol content. It tastes bitter sweet.

- It offers a very fruity flavour and aroma due to the use of certain raw materials such as aromatic Czech hops and coriander.

- Despite being very refreshing it lacks no character.

BUSH DE NOËL, THE CHRISMAS BEER

- This Christmas beer was created by Hugues Dubuisson in 1991.

- It is brewed in limited quantities and rates at 12% alcohol.

- The beer is amber-red due to the use of caramel malt in large quantities.

- This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noël, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste.

VARIANTS

Besides clips of 4 bottles, the Dubuisson brewery has designed small cases of Bush 7%, Bush 12% and Bush de Noël. Bush de Noël is also available in magnum size bottles of 1.5 liters.
SMALL CASES.

- The small cases are composed of 4 bottles of either Bush 12%, Bush 7% or Bush de Noël and a suitable glass. These make highly appreciated gifts.
MAGNUMS.

- Bush de Noël is also available in magnum size bottles (1.5 liters). Magnums however are produced in limited numbers. In this case the beer is not filtered but is refermented in the bottle.

- To keep the natural deposit at the bottom of the bottle, you are advised to leave it to mature for a fortnight before tasting.

- This beer is exceptionally strong. It is particularly appreciated for its considerable range in taste.
